Message from the 2017 Chair
It is with a refreshed outlook & perspective that I wish everyone a very Happy & prosperous 2017! I am honored to be chosen to serve as your Chair & representative for the Southwest Chapter of IAEE this year. (Though I wonder if you all know quite what you’ve done by putting me into this position...)
As we close out 2016, there are a few congratulatory messages that I feel should be addressed. One must go to Julia Smith, our fellow SWIAEE member & colleague, who served as Chair Person for IAEE for the 2016 year. What a fantastic representative for the Southwest Chapter & for the Industry as a whole. Congratulations & Job well-done, Julia! Secondly, Congratulations are due to our very own SWIAEE 2016 Chair, Jennifer Pacheco. Jennifer did an awesome job this year keeping the board on track & continuing to showcase our commitment to education, charitable contributions, & networking as a Chapter. Fantastic job, Jen!
Since I still have the floor & have you all captive, I would be remiss if I did not take a quick moment to recognize & lift up our past board members who have volunteered & made a great commitment of time, effort, & money over the past few years to the growth of the chapter. Please join me in Thanking & wishing a fond & grateful farewell to the following board members; Michelle Monteferrante (outgoing chair), Kathy McAdams (outgoing board member) & Denise Carrison (outgoing board member). Thank you for all you have done over the years!
As we move forward on our journey into 2017, Please also join me in Welcoming (3) NEW Members to our Board; Russ Callahan (PRG), Howard Gelb (UBM Advanstar), & Yesenia Hasakian (Core-apps). Welcome to the team! Looking forward to some great new innovative ideas coming from these individuals!
As your chapter Leadership & Chair, I can promise you that the upcoming year is already shaping up to be very busy for the 2017 SWIAEE Board Team in terms of providing you, our members, a vast variety of events to choose from this year. We will continue providing our support to the CEM program, providing (5-6) additional networking & educational opportunities throughout the year, & supporting charities like our Bob Dallmeyer Foundation in the spring, SWIAEE Children’s Golf Tournament in the summer, & the CHOC walk program in the fall.
We would love to see more member involvement & community development within our Chapter in 2017 & look forward to getting input & feedback from all of you on our overall direction as a chapter. Without you, we would not be here, so I, personally & on behalf of the Board, send you a very sincere & heartfelt Thank you for your membership & sponsorship.
Personally, I am highly anticipating the process of re-acquainting myself with many of you in the 2017 year at our numerous upcoming member educational & social events, specifically at the CHOC walk in October (Sign up & walk with me this year!). I can’t wait to see you all soon!
2017…..Here we come!
