I'm a Show Junkie

I'm a Show Junkie

October 06, 2017 by: Randy Bauler, CEM, American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN)
Hi, I'm Randy Bauler and I'm a show junkie. For the past 21 years, I've worked at the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) as their Corporate Relations & Exhibits Director. That's a fancy way to say I sell exhibit space and conference sponsorships for AACN's annual conference and trade show known as the NTI.
While I love to visit other healthcare shows and events, when the opportunity arises, I also try to visit and walk around other shows and marketplaces. Even public shows, such as car shows, home & garden shows, etc. You can always learn something new, such as creative ways to recognize long-time exhibitors (floor decals stating "Loyal Exhibitor for 40+ years") or new sponsor ideas (like sponsoring water bottles plus all water stations), or engaging attendees with new learning experiences (such as a dome-type structure with 360-degree video and graphics). Guess I'm not only a show junkie but also a "borrower/thief” (choose one) as I love to borrow/steal (choose one) some of the best ideas from lots of shows and events.
