It is an honor to serve as the 2014 Chair of the Southwest Chapter of the IAEE. As we turn to a new year, I would like to thank our current and past board members for their dedication and commitment. The spirit of volunteerism is alive and well in the SWIAEE.
I would like to thank our departing board members Bob Dallmeyer, Stephanie Barnett, Kevin Johnstone and Manolita Moore for their tremendous contributions. I would also like to thank past chair Alex Sandler. You will all be missed.
As we say goodbye, we are also excited to welcome four new board members: Barbara Kirklighter (LA Inc.), Kim Roehricht (AWFS), John Schreiber (LVCVA) and Denise Carrison (Freeman Las Vegas). We look forward to your contributions and appreciate your engagement with the chapter. Welcome Aboard!
As Chair, I will do my best to build on the success established by the previous leadership at SWIAEE. Our membership includes IAEE members in Arizona, Southern California & Nevada. To continue to be successful, I ask for the continued participation, engagement and support of our members, sponsors, committees and board. For those of you in the region who are not yet members, I urge you to join, or at the very least, come to an event and say hello. I am sure you will be glad you did.
Our events this year include a VIP tour of Warner Bros. followed by a cocktails this February, hosting back to back CEM classes with a trip to a Dodgers game this April, and of course, our very popular Annual Charity Golf Tournament this summer. Other events are being planned as well. Please check back with us regularly.
Our aim this year to provide a variety of events for our members and others in the community. These run the gamut from entertaining networking events to educational events to charity events. We encourage everyone to be a part of the Southwest chapter and attend or sponsor events or join a committee. And we want to hear what you want to do, so please feel free to let us know what type of events you would like to attend.
Our common interest in meetings, corporate events, association management and trade shows creates a natural bond between all of us. And, as they say, nothing beats face to face. I look forward to another successful year. And I look forward to seeing all of you at our upcoming events. Please be sure to say hello.
